Graduating 20th grade. This person didn’t know she had another 7 grades to go.

"New” is a very prevalent adjective in my life at the moment.

I am a recent graduate of the 27th grade. Under the structure & guidance of the formal education system, I’ve learned and experienced many skills and gained knowledge to be in the unique role of a sub-specialist within the oral healthcare field.

I have joined (or re-joined… check “About” for more details) the rest of society as a full-fledged, productive member with a new role, within a new place, and with a new perspective that I’ve never experienced before.

To be honest, all of the possibilities and freedoms that come with being outside the “student” position that I so comfortably and chronically occupied is daunting. In a way, the future has become the most abstract it has ever been. The “blank slate” of the present moment is more like an intangible poof of cloud that I cannot even see, more or less even touch.

Which is why I am setting up shop in this corner of the internet.

I hope to make this space a site of reflection, learning, and understanding as I delve into the “new”. And in doing so, I hope to be able to share what I’ve discovered as well as glean some knowledge within this diverse community made up of individuals like me, individuals who have gained wisdom from experiencing some of the things that I will encounter, or those who are about to start the journey that will lead them to similar straits as me.

I’m looking forward to seeing how I develop in this personal & professional journal. Here’s to the beginning of a new history.
